The Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical University of Hannover is internationally renowned for its cochlear implant programme, which is the largest in the world. Other key aspects of our work include:

• the fitting and further development of hearing aids
• early detection of neonatal hearing loss
• diagnostics and treatment of sensorineural hearing impairment and tinnitus
• skull base surgery including acoustic neuroma treatment
• tumour surgery aided by modern surgical and endoscopic laser procedures
• the treatment of chronic inflammation of the nose and paranasal sinuses,
  including allergology and environmental medicine
• plastic and reconstructive surgery
